UCID PARTY OPENED A BRANCH IN MINNESOTA:

Somaliland's UCID party has opened a new US branch in Minneapolis, Minnesota,
today, March the 26th, 2006. The Chairman of North America Branches, Mr. Keyse Ali Gedi, who is based in North Carolina, came to Minneapolis for the sake of this
occasion.

 The Party nominated me, Omer Ahmed Hassan, as the Chairman of this new branch, and Mr. Mohamed Osman as the Vice Chairman. They also nominated Mr. Ibrahim
Nuur, as the Secretary of this new brach in Minnesota.

This was the second time that the Party opened a branch in this country (USA), the first time being in OHIO recently.

Many Somalilanders in this part of the region who all cheered for this historic event attended today’s succesful opening. Mr. Osman Sahardeed, an active, non-partisan Somalilander was one of the main speakers in that meeting, and he urged all the Somalilanders to join the political parties for the sake of making a difference in their mother country. Omar Yusuf Shide, another community elder also pointed out the needs to support UCID or similar parties for the sake of our
progress in every respect.

The Chairman, Mr. Keyse Ali Gedi, has clarified the main objectives and the policy
of the party. He also answered many questions, as he was the keynote speaker of
this event.
